About Us

Everyone has the potential to build one another up.

Readjust Your Crown Incorporated is a nonprofit enrichment program serving men, women, boys and girls in the Cook and Lake County area. We work to build character, promote self-love, help people identify problems starting with self, and encourage transparency — while giving members the tools to serve in their own communities.

We believe that everyone has the potential to build one another up, and that no one has to become a product of their environment or their life circumstances.

“Joining our program will allow members to feel revived, restored and rejuvenated — and with this feeling, no crown will be too heavy to be readjusted.”

Our Guiding Goals

  • Identifying you have a crown
  • Transparency is key
  • Owning the problem, starting with you
  • Self-love
  • Passionate about your purpose

Our Mission & Who We Serve

Helping people reach their highest potential.

Our Mission

To provide men and women, boys and girls with the opportunity to learn life skills, promote self-confidence, teach self-respect and leadership skills, learn how to communicate effectively, and — most importantly — build positive behaviors and attitudes.

Our Vision

To be a prominent organization that impacts individuals, builds confidence and character, and promotes positive behaviors — so that members develop a true sense of their personal power and the unique gifts they bring to their communities.

“We are Readjust Your Crown members. We are here to revive, restore, and rejuvenate everything we have lost. We will accept accountability for our actions, fulfill our goals, forgive, be transparent, and continue to readjust our crowns.”

What We Do

Programs built on safety, honesty, and self-accountability.

Readjust Your Crown offers a custom curriculum focused on leadership skills, self-reflection, accountability, goal setting, clear communication, positive behaviors, boundary setting, and self-love.

Safe Haven Empowerment Groups

Weekly gatherings at community centers, youth organizations, and our own facility. A typical group serves 8 to 20 members and begins with the highs and lows of the week, followed by a guided discussion led by a trained Program Facilitator.

Personal Development Workshops

A custom curriculum that helps members build leadership skills, practice self-reflection, set goals and boundaries, communicate clearly, and grow into positive behaviors that hold up outside the room.

Mentorship & Guidance

Readjust Your Crown partners with influential advisers who help members identify their true selves, respect themselves and others, and learn how to tackle whatever trials life has to offer.

Community Outreach

We meet people where they already are — in community centers and youth organizations across Cook and Lake County — and give members the tools to turn their own growth into service in their communities.

Supportive Resources

We establish a foundation that provides individuals with the tools to help them lead, love, and live a better life — and we stay with our members no matter how tough the challenges become.

Absolute NOs & Boundaries

Members learn to name their absolute NOs, set boundaries that protect their peace, and hold themselves accountable — because self-accountability is the key to everything else we do.

Topics our sessions cover

  • Relationships
  • Mental health
  • Physical & mental abuse
  • Absent parents
  • Self-love
  • Forgiveness
  • Childhood heartbreaks
  • Fulfilling goals
  • Self-worth

Jheri Bevil

Founder & Visionary

Mother, wife, and community servant — with more than 10 years of service within her community.

Meet Our Founder

“I realized that we are all Kings and Queens, and that it is our responsibility to wear our CROWN with the utmost dignity. Many people struggle with this understanding — which is why I founded Readjust Your Crown.”

Jheri Bevil

Jheri Bevil is a mother, a wife, and the founder and visionary of Readjust Your Crown Incorporated. With over 10 years of serving within her community, her passion is to help others live outside a victimized state by giving them a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they can be transparent, honest, and real about the who, the what, and the why behind their struggle to live life at their highest potential.

Jheri promotes owning the problem — starting with you. Whether it is childhood issues, life mistakes that have caused lifelong problems, or the search for purpose, she believes we all have a reason to readjust our crowns.

Her mission is to help men, women, boys, and girls reach their highest potential by dealing with the root cause of the issues that torment them most. She promotes self-confidence, self-respect, positive behaviors and attitudes, absolute NOs, and setting boundaries — because Jheri believes self-accountability is key, and that is exactly what Readjust Your Crown aims to provide.

Impact

Why this work matters.

A lack of parental support, love, guidance, and positive behaviors — and the loss of standards that follows — sits at the root of the social challenges our communities live with every day. Readjust Your Crown was built to reach that root.

Readjust Your Crown has given me sisters. Women that hold me accountable, that celebrate my wins, and lift me up from my lows. We all came into this group not really knowing what to expect, not trusting other women, and broken in various parts of our lives. I am grateful that I gave these women a chance to get to know me. I believe that when women come together with the sole purpose of rebuilding one another, amazing things can happen.

Ebony CoxProgram Director

I’m 33 years old and a single mom of 4. When I started group I was a mess and broken. I had so much hurt built inside me, I was afraid to release it. But one day I sat down and talked to Jheri, and I felt a calmness come over me. Group has taught me self-love, it has taught me which battles to fight, and it has changed my thinking process and showed me how to trust more.

Dominique FranklinProgram member

Being a part of this group has helped me grow in more ways than one. I’ve forgiven people I thought I never would, and been transparent in front of people I didn’t know without feeling ashamed, because I knew I wasn’t the only one there for help. I’ve forgiven myself, I’m loving myself more, and I can honestly say I have received my breakthrough, gained peace and FREEDOM.

Alesha WatsonProgram member

Readjust Your Crown wants people of all ages and origins to identify their problems within themselves. We are here to promote, encourage, and give individuals that extra strength to be more vocal, transparent, and free — so that toxic attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors stop diminishing their true character.
